What Our Parents Are Saying

All three of our children attended this wonderful preschool in Evanston.  We had the pleasure of having all of the caring teachers over the past 6 years.  From the 2 yr. old program up to the 4 yr. old, mornings and afternoons.  All of our children have had great individual experiences at Northminster.

Northminster has a large enclosed outdoor play area on school property.  It includes a climber, playground equipment, sand area, and a garden that the children plant flowers and vegetables in.  

The school also has an ample indoor large motor room for the children to play in when the weather is not suitable for playing outside.  The classrooms are bright and friendly.  
 
My two older kids still have many friends they made at Northminster.  It is a neighborhood preschool with a number of family events throughout the year to bring school families together.

There are so many reasons why we love Northminster.

My daughter is in her second year at Northminster. When I ask her what she did at school that day, her answer is always “everything!” She truly loves going to school. I have her in the afternoon class and it’s wonderful. Mornings aren’t a rush and when the day turns to “what are we going to do now?” I can tell her “You get to go to school!” She is learning so much and has made some great friends. There is a real sense of community at the school and lots of opportunities for parents to volunteer (if they wish).

We have four children and all of them attended Northminster Nursery School. We have attended both the morning and afternoon classes over the years, and can truly say our experiences were great every time. The classrooms are big and bright with a huge variety of activities within, and the outdoor area is attached to the school which is a huge plus to me.  The families are friendly and because it is a neighborhood school it has been easy for our older kids to stay in touch with the friends they made there. The teachers are wonderful – kind, fun, patient, and always with lots of fun activities planned. I highly recommend this school.

We have been delighted that our son has had the opportunity to participate in the Extended Day program at Northminster Nursery School! He loves doing science projects, going on field trips, spending time with a smaller group of friends and Mrs. Page, of course. The Extended Day program offers a rare opportunity for children in Evanston that are ready for a longer day to benefit from creativity, tutelage, and care from the NNS teachers. We cannot say enough good things about it!!

I am thrilled that our 4 year old son was able to participate in the Extended Day option at NNS this school year!  The afternoons are filled with a variety of enrichment activities and have really fostered a love of exploration, learning and creativity in him!  My initial reservations about the day ending at 2PM (with a younger child who still naps) were quickly replaced with a carpool group that works for all involved.  There is a wonderful sense of community at NNS and our family is so happy to be a part of it.

I have both of my children going there – one has graduated last year, the other one is still there. Very good preparation for the big school! Great staff that really enjoys their jobs and does the best. The school has a new outdoor play area as well as an indoor-outdoor room for inclement weather. The preschool programs are enriched with a gym and music programs once a week – included in the tuition.

There are 2 morning programs for the 2 years old kids – younger and older twos, morning and afternoon programs for 3 and 4 years old. The school has a lunch bunch program for both morning and afternoon kids who are 3+. There are a few family events during the school year allowing parents to get to know each other and it gives the school a nice warm feeling – as if it is an extended family. You will love it there and you will feel welcomed!
